Founder
Shark Shield was founded by Justin Powers when his children had a close encounter with a shark while on a family vacation. As a husband and father of 5, his passion to help protect children and families has fueled proprietary research and innovation that makes our product the most effective beach safety system in the world.
Co-founder
Former NFL runningback, Peyton Hillis, became our co-founder after he nearly lost his life while rescuing his son and his niece from a Florida rip current. As a rip current survivor, Peyton perfectly understands the utility and effectiveness of our rip current protection system. His drive to help save lives makes him a perfect addition to our Shark Shield team.
Technology
Shark Shield utilizes the latest innovations in drone and communication technology to protect beachgoers from rip currents and sharks. Our mission is to end rip current deaths and traumatic shark encounters by leveraging: technology, training, and research.
